The first thing we do is get your company a SAM registration or, if you already have your SAM, we will make sure it’s up to date with all the correct codes.
SAM is the acronym for The System for Award Management and it was designed to streamline the process of both obtaining and procuring federal contracts by integrating all federal procurement systems into one system. CCR and ORCA are just two of them they combined into this system.
Having them all in one system reduces the risk of being improperly registered in all required systems.
Changes in government contract requirements often cause confusion and frustration among users including the government and it is your responsibility to keep your information current. If your SAM is not kept up you could be missing contracts for improper registration or worse, you win a contract and don’t get paid.
The government is highly recommending that all businesses analyze their registration to prevent potential problems and delays for both you and the agencies.
Next, we will register your company on all pertinent government websites. The number of registrations depends on what you do and your coverage area.
There are a lot more registration sites than you may think. One is the SBA’s – Dynamic Small Business Search. This is a tool contracting officers use to identify potential small business contractors for upcoming contracting opportunities. There are many others.
Then we determine all your government codes. Once again there are probably more than you think, Such as:
(NAICS) The North American Industry Classification System and it was developed as the standard for use by Federal agencies in classifying business establishments. We make sure you have all the proper NAICS codes for your business so they are correct in all the government systems.
PSC Codes describe products, services, and research and development (R&D) purchased by the federal government. These codes indicate what was bought for each contract and reported in the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS)
The D-U-N-S Number is recognized, recommended, and/or required by more than 200 global, industry, and trade associations, including the U.S. Federal Government.
SIC codes are four digit numerical codes assigned by the U.S. government to business establishments to identify the primary business of the establishment. The classification was developed to facilitate the collection, presentation and analysis of data; and to promote uniformity and comparability in the presentation of statistical data collected by various agencies of the federal government, state agencies and private organizations. The classification covers all economic activities
The Commercial And Government Entity (CAGE) Code is a five-character ID number used extensively within the federal government, assigned by the Department of Defense’s Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The CAGE code is used to support a variety of mechanized systems throughout the government and provides a standardized method of identifying a given legal entity at a specific location. The code may be used for a facility clearance, or a pre-award survey.
